Claire Trevor School of the Arts
All majors must:

- Complete 60 transferable semester units prior to the start of the
intended quarter
- Meet all course requirements for UC admission
|

- Have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.7
- No specific course requirements
Note: Dance and Music majors admitted by audition only.
New students are not admitted directly to the Arts and Humanities major;
transfer students should apply for a major in the Claire Trevor School of
the Arts.

School of Biological Sciences
All majors must:

- Complete 60 transferable semester units prior to the start of the
intended quarter
- Meet all course requirements for UC admission
|
|
- Have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0
- Complete one year of general chemistry with laboratory with a B or better in both semesters
Note: Entry to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Developmental and Cell
Biology, Genetics, Neurobiology, Microbiology and Immunology, or Plant Biology requires department approval
for enrollment.

The Henry Samueli School of Engineering
Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering majors must:

- Complete 60 transferable semester units prior to the start of the
intended quarter
- Meet all course requirements for UC admission

- Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8 and a minimum GPA of 2.8 in required courses
- Complete one year of calculus
- Complete one year of calculus-based physics with laboratory

- Complete two additional approved courses for the major

Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering: Premedical, Chemical
Engineering, and Materials Science Engineering majors must:

intended quarter
- Meet all course requirements for UC admission

- Complete one year of calculus
- Complete one year of calculus-based physics with laboratory (including electromagnetism)
- Complete one year of programming with at least one course in object-oriented programming (Java recommended)
- Complete one additional approved course for the major

Public Health Sciences majors must:

Public Health Policy majors must:

- Complete one year of courses in anthropology, economics, sociology, and/or psychology
Note: Entry to the Nursing Science or Pharmaceutical Sciences
(open fall 2008) requires department approval after student has enrolled.
Nursing Science requires review of supplemental application for materials.

School of Humanities
All majors must:

- Complete 60 transferable semester units prior to the start of the
intended quarter
- Meet all course requirements for UC admission

- Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.7
- No specific course requirements
Note: Entry to the Humanities (Interdisciplinary) major requires department
approval after student has enrolled. New students are not admitted directly
into the Humanities and Arts major. Transfer students should apply for a
major in the School of Humanities.

Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences
Computer Science and Information and Computer Science majors must:
|
- Complete 60 transferable semester units prior to the start of the
intended quarter
- Meet all course requirements for UC admission
|
|
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8 and a minimum GPA of 2.8 in required courses
- Complete one year of college mathematics equivalent to discrete
mathematics if available; if not, first-year calculus; Note: a semester
of pre-calculus and a semester of calculus may not be used to fulfill
this requirement.
- Complete one year of transferable computer science courses involving
concepts such as those found in C++, Java, Eiffel, or another object-oriented,
high-level language; Note: Programming only courses are not acceptable.
- Knowledge of Java is strongly recommended

discrete mathematics, statistics, or symbolic logic are strongly preferred;
Note: a semester of pre-calculus and a semester of calculus may not be used
to fulfill this requirement.
- Complete one year of transferable computer science courses involving

- Complete one year of a college level course in English composition with a minimum GPA of 3.0
