UC Irvine's Transfer Admission Guarantee Program (TAG) guarantees admission to well-qualified students from all California community colleges. Admission to most majors at UC Irvine can be guaranteed through TAG for transfer students who meet the eligibility requirements and complete the procedure required to obtain a transfer admission guarantee.
Completing the TAG Checklist process in combination with applying to UC Irvine will also result in an early admissions evaluation for fall 2010.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR TAG?
Good news! The majority of prospective transfer applicants from California Community Colleges are eligible for TAG and can confirm their eligibility as they complete the new online TAG Checklist.
A student who is TAG eligible:
- has completed the first transferable English composition course;
- has completed the first transferable math course;
- does not have a degree from a four-year college/university;
- does not have any foreign/international coursework;
- does not have any coursework from a four-year college/university (exception: coursework completed at
a UC and the applicant left the UC in good standing);
- does not have any coursework from an out-of-state college/university.
Many students who are not eligible for TAG are still exceptionally
well-qualified and are strongly encouraged to apply for admission to
UC Irvine through the regular application process during the filing period.
For fall 2010 admission the UC Application filing period is
November 1-30, 2009. Students may apply online at www.ucop.edu/pathways.
TAG PROCEDURE FOR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS - to obtain your Transfer Admission Guarantee:
- Enter your personal information.
- Ensure you meet the minimum required eligibility requirements outlined on
the TAG Checklist. All eligibility requirements must be completed prior to the
UC Application filing period for fall quarter 2010 admission.
- Complete and submit the TAG Checklist online during the TAG Checklist submission period, September 1 through
October 15, 2009 for fall 2010 admission; including an advising session
with your transfer center director if required.
- Apply for admission to UC Irvine for fall 2010 during the UC Application
filing period, November 1-30, 2009.
- Indicate your TAG eligibility on the UC Application and receive a
priority admissions evaluation.
- Complete the steps required to maintain your UC Irvine Transfer
Admission Guarantee.

Arts and Humanities, Biomedical Computing, Business Administration, Dance, Humanities and Arts,
Humanities (Interdisciplinary), Music, Nursing Science, Pharmaceutical
Sciences, all undeclared majors.
