Lower-Division Requirements and Prerequisites
The following lists are provided to guide your selection of courses for specific UCI majors. Students need to complete courses specified as required prior to transfer; courses recommended can be taken at UCI. However, students should complete as much of their lower-division course work as possible prior to transfer.
Special note: The GPAs listed serve as a reference of competitiveness only and do not guarantee admission.

Students may apply to either Biological Sciences or Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

Required:
- a cumulative UC transferable GPA of 2.8
School of Social Sciences
Business Economics, Economics, Quantitative Economics
Required:
- a cumulative UC transferable GPA of 2.8
- one year of basic economic theory (macroeconomics and microeconomics) with a grade of B or better in each course
- one year of first-year calculus with a grade of B or better in each course
