  Elective Credit :   Elective credit is awarded in cases where breadth and/or UCI course credit does not apply.


  Duplicate Credit :   Students should be aware that IB exams, AP exams, and college courses taken prior to or after
enrolling at the University may be duplicative. In these cases, the University will award credit for only one of these.


  Credit Limitation :   A student may receive eight units maximum for Higher Level IB exams that are duplicative.


  ** Students who wish to enroll in any Spanish course at UCI are still required to take the placement exam (and oral interview if necessary). Students, however, cannot earn units or grade points in courses from which they have been exempted on the basis of IB credit, even if placement results require enrollment in such a level.
