UC Irvine - Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools

The mission of the Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools, a division of Student Affairs, is to:

optimize UC Irvine's undergraduate enrollments by implementing Academic Senate, Universitywide, and campus policies for the selection and admission of new freshman and transfer students and
stimulate and advance cooperative educational relationships between UC Irvine and California schools and colleges

The Office works to improve the preparation of prospective students for higher education and to promote their access to and success at UC irvine.

To accomplish these goals, the staff of the Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools:

Represents UCI and the University of California at various outreach activities
Makes presentations and provides information to prospective students, parents, school personnel, and the community about UCI's academic programs and campus life
Presents information to students ready to apply to UCI, defining the application, admission, and enrollment procedures
Serves as a liaison, fostering cooperation and intersegmental relationships among California's high schools, colleges, and other educational sectors
Presents campus-based programs for prospective students, parents, teachers, counselors, and various educational publics who wish to learn more about UCI
Cultivates an informed, well-prepared and enthusiastic applicant pool aimed at eventual application and matriculation to UCI
Monitors applications and admission trends
Collects and evaluates personal and academic data to select and admit new undergraduate students
Establishes students' permanent UCI academic records
Evaluating (for transfer credit) course work from other colleges and universities taken by both new and continuing students and
Answers the many questions and concerns involved in the application and admission process.
