Welcome to UCI's new student orientation!
Check out our programs for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
We are thrilled to have you join the Anteater family!
As an incoming freshman, you must attend an orientation session. You will receive academic advising, register for courses, get important information on student resources and services, and have lots of opportunities to make new friends.
As an incoming transfer student, orientation is optional, but a great deal of helpful information will be shared. The school of your major will be e-mailing you with more information about academic advising in June.
Grab your spot in one of our summer orientation programs!
It’s mandatory for all incoming freshmen to attend one of the following applicable orientation programs.
Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP) — This program is UCI’s college orientation for U.S. high school graduates. This mandatory two-day event is held ten times throughout the summer. The SPOP session you will attend must happen when your school of study participates in orientation. For more information on SPOP dates, see the schedule for participating academic schools.
International Student Orientation (ISO) Program — This program is mandatory for international freshmen who did not graduate from high school in the U.S. International freshmen who attended high school in the U.S. are encouraged to attend SPOP, but can attend ISO if they are not available for SPOP.
It's optional for incoming transfer students to attend one of the following orientation programs:
Transfer Student Parent Orientation Program (T-SPOP) — This optional program is campus orientation for transfer students.
Transfer Success Program — Make your switch to UCI easy with this program. Please contact the school of your major for academic advising information. Each academic unit has its own timeline for advising appointments, and many schools will not start advising transfer students until after June 1.
