Preparations While in Community College
As a student transferring from another college or university, you may
have questions about eligibility, course requirements for your major,
financial services, and the like. Here are several important places for
you to visit in your quest for practical and effective information:
- Introducing the University, a general resource for
all students. This includes effective tools for selecting a campus and
major, finding the money to pay for your education, and housing issues
and opportunities.
- Answers for Transfers, an extensive planning guide
for transfer students. This document, presented in a workable menu
format, includes information on special programs, housing, and financial
and student services, as well as general UC information on admission
requirements, transfer credit, and majors.
- ASSIST (Articulation
System Stimulating Interinstitutional Student Transfer) is California's
official statewide repository of transfer information that displays how
course credit earned at one California college can be applied when
transferred to another.
- UC Irvine General Catalogue, information on
admission and graduation requirements, and all UCI academic programs. The
Catalogue lists all the courses offered at UCI.
- UC Irvine - Community College Transfer
Admission, Selection, and Preparation: Overview of UC Irvine transfer
admission and selection practices and lower-division degree requirements for
all UC Irvine majors.
- UC Irvine Transfer Programs:
If you are attending a California Community College, we recommend that
you contact the counseling office or transfer center in your present
school for additional, more specific information about transferring to
UC Irvine.
You may also contact us for additional
information. For California Community College students, the Office of
Admissions and Relations with Schools offers in-person or telephone
transfer advising most Fridays from 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. in room
204 of Aldrich Hall. Please call prior to your visit
and plan to bring official or unofficial transcripts if possible.
