International Undergraduate Preparation Program (IUPP)
The Standard for Academic Success
To support students intending to apply for admission to UCI, we offer a program for qualified international high school graduates who wish to improve their academic and/or language skills. Offered through UCI Extension, this comprehensive, 9-month program gives highest caliber international high school graduates essential skills as they prepare to apply to a bachelor’s degree program in the United States.
Students in IUPP enroll in one or two quarters of 10-Week Intensive English as a Second Language, followed by two quarters of undergraduate academic courses. Individual student progress is closely monitored and supported by IUPP advisors. Throughout the program, specially designed activities help participants feel more comfortable with the UCI campus, its abundant resources, and its academic rigor.

- Assistance with undergraduate application
- A 30-hour SAT preparation course
- Tutoring in English and university study skills
- Weekly meetings with your UCI undergraduate conversation partner
