Living on Campus

UCI’s housing communities offer residents resort-like amenities, excellent dining facilities, special programs and events, and a wide-variety of housing options including residence halls, theme houses, and apartments. Take a look at our housing community descriptions and what residents of each community have to say about their on-campus living experience.

Residence Halls

Mesa Court and Middle Earth are first-year housing communities offering a wide range of theme halls with live-in resident advisors.

What students had to say:

Mesa Court is truly UCI’s oasis. The people you meet, the lifelong connections you make, and the opportunities you are exposed to create an inviting atmosphere where you can thrive both academically and socially.”

“Living in Middle Earth is like a dream come true — convenient on-campus location, friendly staff and residents, and everyone comes to eat lunch or dinner here. What more could you ask for?”

Theme Houses

Arroyo Vista is a theme house community serving first-year theme houses, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, including transfer students. It offers a wide range of academic-sponsored and Greek-sponsored (sorority and fraternity) house options. Themes include areas such as Humanities, Culinary Arts, International, Engineering, Sustainability, Biology, Academic Excellence Black Scholars House, as well as many more.

What students had to say:

“The Arroyo Vista community is comfortable to be in. It is a nice place to do all sorts of activities, yet it can also be a good place to study and work on academics. The people are friendly and it is easy to meet new people. The staff are very helpful and respond quickly.”

“The location of Arroyo Vista is what made me want to live here. I love living on campus compared to commuting, and it has improved my experience at UCI.”

Apartments

Campus Village, Palo Verde, and Verano Place offer independent year-round living for graduate students, with all the advantages of on-campus housing, including live-on support staff, community facilities, convenience, and affordability.

What students had to say:

“Wonderful! Got to meet some really nice people and made great friends.”

“I love living here. It's a perfect balance of independence and cooperation with other residents.”
